I was so happy with how they casted the roles – Lily Collins as Rosie and Sam Claflin as Alex. I found it okay that they changed it because after all, most of the messages written by Rosie ended with “Love, Rosie.” The movie really is a charmer with Lily Collins playing Rosie (I mean, come on!! Who doesn’t love Lily Collins?) with her cute and innocent features that would make you bypass every plot change done in the movie but in the eyes of a person who reads the book first before watching the movie, the book is much more entertaining. The book was written in a way that it was like an exchange of letters, IMs, or emails and it’s original title was Where Rainbows End before the movie adaptation changed it to Love, Rosie. For those of you whom have never seen nor read Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern, well it’s about the missed opportunities and all the ill timings of two best friends, Rosie and Alex, whom know they’re a perfect match but never got the chance to express how they feel towards each other.

I know I’m a little bit outdated and late with the whole Love, Rosie thing and I know there’s a movie and you’d rather spend 2 hours of watching it than 2 weeks (more or less) of reading the book but trust me, the book is a solid one (and this is coming from a heterosexual male who usually dislikes chick flicks). just wish it happened sooner.or maybe I am actually thinking about real life.YES, I KNOW. I do have to admit that the epilogue very much reminded me of a Nicholas Sparks book.in fact I had dejvu when reading and checked the cover to see that I wasn't reading one of his novels.Ĭute ending. I enjoyed this book.a bit sad that these two couldn't get their act together with each other for so long because they were so busy pleasing everyone else, trying to make "life" work the way it was suppose to, that they didn't know how to make life work with each other. Even more agonizing when Best Friends have unbelievably bad timing for 50 years.ĭid I mention 50 years, because the entire book is written between several characters through emails, letters, and text messages- and when I say 50 years.I seriously mean the letters, emails, and text messages span a lifetime of 50 years. Unbelievably frustrating when Best Friends don't become more then best friends. Best friends forever through many marriages, births, divorces, deaths, and career changes. (Now I believe I am getting sappy with my reviews.)ĭid I mention that it was girly.as in sappy and cheesy, in a completely honest way?īoy meets girl. I appreciated the one liners that were hysterical and I believed in the frustrations and sadness of the characters. Even scarier- it hit close to home because it was relatable. Was it exactly what I needed right now.yes,
