Belfort filed a lawsuit to the tune of $300 million in Los Angeles Superior Court against Riza Aziz’s Red Granite Pictures, claiming he was not aware the film was funded by money that was stolen from the Malaysian government.Īziz is currently facing money-laundering charges related to the raiding of the massive investment fund 1MDB which was set up by his step father, the disgraced former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak. Jordan Belfort, the real-life con-man who was immortalized by Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s “ The Wolf of Wall Street,” is suing the film’s producers for fraud and breach of contract.
